Congregational Care Ministry Virtual Seminar
Friday, March 12, 2021 & Saturday, March 13, 2021
9:00 am to 4:00 pm via ZOOM
No matter the size of your congregation or pastoral staff, it seems that there is never enough time for the pastoral staff to support the entire congregation in all areas of care. One solution is to train lay congregants as Congregational Care Ministers, developing a team approach of pastors and laity working together to support the congregation.
The El Camino Real District, California-Nevada Conference of The United Methodist Church and the Los Altos United Methodist Church invite you and members of your congregation to attend a two-day virtual seminar designed to train individuals to become Congregational Care Ministers. Training includes listening, visitation, and dealing with grief, illness, divorce, and depression. There are sections on prayer, memorial services, anger and anxiety.
This training is free for participants. *A training textbook is necessary for this seminar and can be picked up at no cost at two locations below, or you can purchase it online (links below).
