Presented by Reno First United Methodist Church

  • Where are you on the Path?
  • Have you ever asked yourself if you’re losing your Christianity?
  • Do you question where Christianity is headed?
  • Has your personal Christianity moved beyond the traditional lines of worship?
  • Do you feel that Christianity has stagnated?

Well, not so. Christianity is on the move, says renowned Christian Progressive, Brian McLaren, author of The Great Spiritual Migration: How the World’s Largest Religion Is Seeking a Better Way to Be Christian.

To hear more, join us on October 12, 2019 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, where Brian will be addressing such in-depth issues as:

  • Advancing our revered biblical beliefs into a working doctrine for a modern world
  • The metamorphoses of God
  • Ascension from antiquated exclusionary religious institutions to creating open and welcoming religious groups
  • Christianity – our procession into the future

In addition to our special guest speaker, Brian McLaren, we will have a wealth of talented speakers who will be hosting breakout sessions across the Reno area. These breakout sessions will be led by a diverse group of religious and community leaders who serve in local and regional positions and who have made faith a lived reality that is contextual, critical, and practical. The breakout sessions will take place across the city in various host houses of worship, and will focus on the practical aspects of this content in various contexts.

Discussions will include:

  • What does spiritual migration look like for church planning?
  • What is evangelism in an age of interfaith acceptance?
  • How do we train leaders for spiritual communities with shapes and forms that are radically different from the community churches we are used to?
  • How do other non-profits care for the spiritual health of their constituents?
  • What happens when radical inclusivity and traditionalism bump up against one another in our congregations?

Whether you are a church leader, regular parishioner, or have taken a break from all that religious and spiritual stuff, come join us and expect revelations from our uniquely guided Shining Lights.

Join us on the Path and be illuminated!
